The Search For Light Flaky Pie Crust

I have been baking and designing for events so much, that I haven't had time to blog..
Wong, Wongggg...  But, I'm Back !!

Today, I am going to share with you my journey and now search for the best light flaky pie crust.
I prepared the pie crust from the Pioneer Woman cookbook.. I wasn't impressed, although the Pioneer Woman uses this crust from another culinary artist.

The crust was heavy and a thick chalky tasteless cookie. It was definetly appetizing , but it wasn't what I was looking for in a delectable flaky apple pie crust. There are many recipes out there that uses butter and shortening, so my job is to figure out how to make the perfect pie crust for sweet and savory.  I will give this recipe another chance with using half and half butter and shortening. I will see if I can create the light and flaky pie crust that I'm looking for in my journey of delicious pie crust. The pie filling was so delicious !!!! I will share my recipe when I have a full recipe to delight your taste buds.

Waffles Anytime of Day

If you ever want to know what to do with your left over waffle batter, here are a few examples. I love breakfast and I can eat it anytime of the day. So, to me this makes it extra special that I can have both very important tastings twice a day with the same equal love ! Breakfast & Dessert is the best part of my meal a day.
Check out the waffles with dutch chocolate, strawberry, pineapple toppings, marshmallow, cherries , caramel, roasted pecans and whipped cream. They're a little over the top because I made them with my kids.. As if you can't tell , but they are fun to create and not have to spend 10.00 at an amusement park and you can add all the toppings you like for a fraction of the cost .   Yummie for your TUMMIE !!!

Christmas Busy Time

I don't know about everyone else, but I love Christmas. I not only love Christmas because it's Jesus Birthday and HE is the reason why we should celebrate Christmas everyday of our lives. But, I love the season because it gives me an excuse to create beautiful table escapes,delicious food and yummie treats for my clients and family !

I will be posting delicious food and desserts throughout the week and since this week is ending soon. I will continue the treat next week as well. I have the largest event ever in my career as a caterer of  300 guests to serve on December 21, 2011 for a Christmas Luncheon. So, what I've been doing is testing recipes to see which one I prefer to serve my client guest.

So, as you can see, I am going to have alot of fun from now until the Christmas Luncheon.

Beginning of a New Chapter

Hello everyone !

I am starting a food/desserts blog today called "Yummie's Kisses Food Blog". I hope that my food will be as yummie to everyone as it is to my family and friends. I would like to first start off by saying that food has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My mother wasn't a great cook, but she was an excellent baker ! I would sneak and eat the desserts when everyone would go to sleep, I was good at eating under the layer where no one would know that some of the dessert was missing. Heeee !!!

My sister and I had alternating weeks where we had to cook dinner for a week at a time. My sister hated it, so when she got married she didn't know how to cook. I would come over or tell her over the phone how to cook spaghetti, eggs, roast beef, fry chicken and other meals before her husband returned home from work. : ) She would be laughing right now , if she knew that I was exposing her in front of the whole world. Cooking food, desserts and creating fabulous decor to display my food on is a passion of mine. I really enjoy creating dishes and beautiful centerpieces and place settings for my family, friends and others to enjoy. I love to see their reaction and share the experience with them when they're feeling like royalty for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner in my home.

I will continue to share "Yummie's Kisses" to the world, which will be sure to open the door to someones heart !
